Core Vitality™
Core Vitality™ is a new, signature programme born from years of working with local women from across South East London and beyond, and from recognising that core health requires a more holistic approach.
Many core training methods or pelvic floor exercises offered by health services overlook the importance of scar care, breathwork, and movement integration. Core Vitality™ combines these elements, filling in the gaps that are often missing from other approaches, for a comprehensive, accessible, and sustainable path to true core health
Restoring Function, Improving Mobility, and Supporting Scar Recovery
This programme is designed to meet you where you are, helping you rebuild strength, improve mobility, and enable recovery in a way that feels both fun and empowering.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, childbirth, or simply want to enhance your overall core function, Core Vitality™ has you covered.
What is Core Vitality™?
Core Vitality™ goes beyond traditional core training. It’s about restoring true core function through a holistic approach that includes movement, breath, and scar care. Your core is not just about abs – it’s a dynamic system involving multiple muscle groups, including the pelvic floor, diaphragm, spinal stabilisers, and glutes. When any part of this system is compromised, it can lead to pain, weakness, and limited movement.
In Core Vitality™, we focus on:
- Abdominal muscles (front, sides, and back)
- Pelvic floor muscles (key for pelvic health and stability)
- Diaphragm (your primary breathing muscle)
- Spinal stabilisers (muscles along your back and spine)
- Gluteals (key to supporting the pelvis and hips)
When these muscles work together, they provide stability, mobility, and support for every movement you make. But if these connections are disrupted by trauma, scars, or poor movement patterns, it can lead to discomfort, pain, or instability.
Common Signs of a Weak or Dysfunctional Core
If you’re experiencing any of the following specific issues, it could be a sign that your core needs attention:
- Pelvic floor concerns (e.g., incontinence, prolapse)
- Abdominal issues such as tummy gap (also known as diastasis recti, the separation of abdominal muscles)
- Difficulty with deep core activation (post-surgery, post-pregnancy)
- Persistent tension or pain in the back, hips, or pelvis
- Breathing difficulties, shallow or tight breathing patterns
- Poor posture or instability while standing or walking
Core Vitality™ can help address these issues by restoring balance and function to your core system.
How Core Vitality™ Differs from Traditional Core Training
Traditional core workouts often focus on isolated exercises like crunches or planks. While these exercises have their place, they tend to miss the bigger picture: true core health is about integration. Core Vitality™ combines:
- Deep core activation – engaging the muscles that support daily movements and posture
- Breathwork – integrating functional breathing techniques to enhance core activation and ease restrictions from scars
- Scar care – addressing the impact of abdominal and pelvic scars on core function
- Movement-based training – using functional exercises to teach the core to support real-life actions
This holistic approach ensures that your core works efficiently and effectively in everything you do, and can make a huge difference to your wellbeing.
Scar Healing and Core Vitality™
Scars, particularly from Caesareans, abdominal surgeries, or perineal tears, can disrupt core function and limit mobility. Even well-healed scarring can create tension, numbness, or pain that affects movement and posture.
Core Vitality™ integrates gentle, non-invasive techniques to:
- Restore mobility – easing restrictions caused by scars, improving movement
- Improve sensation – reducing numbness or hypersensitivity from scar tissue
- Enhance breathing – addressing tension that limits diaphragm movement and core activation
- Refine core function – reconnecting with deep core and pelvic muscles
Through this focused approach, Core Vitality™ supports not just healing, but optimal core performance, and can leave you pain free.
How I Help You Build Core Vitality™
Core Vitality™ is a comprehensive and unique programme that brings together:
- Functional movement coaching – Pilates, yoga, and somatics to support your core and functional movements
- Breathwork techniques – including Hypopressives and functional breathing for deep core activation and postural support
- Hands-on bodywork – to release restrictions, improve mobility, and support the connections between core and limbs
- Scar therapy – addressing abdominal, pelvic and associated scars that impact movement, sensation, and breathing
Who Is This For?
Core Vitality™ is for you if you’re dealing with any of the following:
- Postnatal recovery – reconnecting with your core and pelvic floor after childbirth
- Pelvic health concerns – addressing pelvic floor weakness, tension, pain or discomfort
- Surgery recovery – supporting recovery of stomach and pelvic floor muscles after giving birth (Caesarean or vaginal deliveries), abdominal surgeries, or perineal procedures
- Chronic pain or instability – improving lower back pain, hip issues, or posture imbalances
- Active individuals – enhancing movement efficiency and preventing injury

Frequently Asked Questions - Women's Health
What is Core Vitality™?
Core Vitality™ is a unique programme designed to improve pelvic floor & core health, and promote overall wellness for women across South East London and beyond. It integrates education and techniques to release, tone and activate the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles, improve posture, and increase body awareness. A small ball is used in the sessions, which I will provide for you to support your practice at home.
What are Hypopressives, and how do they help?
Hypopressives are breathing techniques and postures that aim to reduce pressure on the pelvic floor and abdominals, and improve core function. It strengthens the deep muscles of the abdomen and pelvic floor, promoting better posture, enhanced core stability, and better overall health. It’s particularly helpful for women postpartum or those experiencing pelvic floor concerns.
What is Scar Care, and how can it benefit me?
Scar Care focuses on the healing and treatment of scars, particularly those resulting from surgeries, childbirth, or injuries. Through a combination of breathwork, gentle movements, and hands-on techniques (both from me and ones I’ll teach you), this therapy aims to release tension, improve mobility, and restore sensation around scarring. It can also help ease pain, discomfort and promotes healing. In addition to the physical advantages, Scar Care can address the emotional connection to scars, enhancing both physical and mental well-being.
Are the therapies invasive?
Are the therapies invasive?
My services are non-invasive and always performed with your comfort and consent as a priority. You remain clothed during most sessions, except for scar therapy, where the area of the scar needs to be exposed so I can work directly on it. For example, scars from a C-section or hysterectomy will require exposure.
I do not offer any form of internal or intimate examination or treatment. The techniques I use for all scars, including those on the pelvic area, are gentle and focused on promoting natural healing, breathing, and movement from the outside.
Do I need any special equipment for the sessions?
For Core Vitality™, a small ball is required. I will provide this ball for you at our first session. It’s yours to keep and use during our sessions and for your home practice to support your journey towards greater strength and vitality.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends entirely on your individual needs and goals.
Most clients find that a series of sessions is the most effective way to create lasting change and achieve their goals.
We’ll regularly discuss your progress and determine the best approach for you as we move forward.
Can I combine these therapies with other treatments?
Yes, these therapies are designed to complement your current approach to well-being, including exercise and other treatments you might be doing. While they can support your overall health, they are not a replacement for medical care.
You may find it helpful to discuss your treatments with your healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to your well-being.
Will I experience any discomfort during treatment?
The therapies are gentle and designed to improve comfort, movement, and function. If you feel any discomfort or pain during a session, please let me know so we can adjust accordingly. The goal is to support your body’s healing process in a way that feels comfortable and nurturing.
Are these therapies suitable for all women?
Yes, these therapies are designed to help women at different stages of life, including those who are postpartum, experiencing peri-/menopause, dealing with pelvic health concerns, or recovering from surgery.
I will tailor each session to meet your specific needs, ensuring it’s appropriate and beneficial for you.
When can I start these therapies after giving birth or surgery?
Postnatal recovery and recovery from surgery varies for each person. Generally, I recommend waiting at least 6-8 weeks after childbirth before starting, as long as you have received medical clearance from your GP or midwife.
If you had a caesarean section or any other surgery, it is very important that you have healed sufficiently and received clearance from your healthcare provider before starting any therapy.
We can discuss your individual recovery and I can help guide you toward the right time to begin.
How do I get started?
The best way to start is by booking a FREE discovery call. We can discuss your concerns, goals, and how I can help you achieve a healthier, more comfortable, and confident outlook.
